Parkers Prairie is a city of about 1,000 people located 17 miles north of Alexandria on Highway 29. It provides the perfect setting for memorable and affordable receptions, meetings and special events, held at the Prairie Event Center.
The Prairie Event Center can turn anyone’s dream into a reality. The Center’s layout offers unlimited uses, featuring a 7,200 square-foot ballroom, a full-service catering kitchen, a built-in stage, a full-service bar and two portable bars. There is also a smaller community room. The ballroom can be separated into two smaller rooms. Crossings by GrandStay® Inn and Suites, a 33-room hotel, is located just west of the event center with a covered hallway connecting the two buildings.
Parkers Prairie’s newly-renovated park now boasts two large accessible play structures and other activities. New accessible restrooms and sidewalks enhance the picnic shelters and outdoor swimming pool. Lake Adley Park provides a public access boat ramp for summer fishing and a popular ice fishing spot.
Brand new in 2016, a paved bike and walking path was built from edge of town to the lake – five miles of paved trail. Downtown streets were completely redone in 2016, with new sidewalks.
The city’s annual Fall Festival will be August 4-6. A new event this year is the rodeo being sponsored by the Fire Department, Friday, Aug 4. There are vendors in the park, fireworks Saturday night and the parade, Sunday noon.
Situated in this idyllic setting, the Prairie Event Center can be the ideal location for your reception, corporate meeting, family reunion or business social/formal event.
